Terms of Use

These terms govern access to Grayson County Criminal History and its search tools. Reading the content, visiting a page, or submitting a partner search signals acceptance of the conditions below. If you disagree with them, do not continue to use the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately run website has no affiliation with Grayson County, Virginia, or any government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other screening regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government authority. It does not store official criminal files, retrieve records, conduct an official background check, or submit paperwork for a visitor.

Its content points to Grayson County law enforcement and courts, the Virginia State Police repository, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Public access depends on the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, court rules, and dissemination limits such as Code § 19.2-389. Some pages also connect to independently operated search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on lawful, non-disruptive conduct. You must not:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools on the pages
  • Harass, stalk, or threaten someone with information found here
  • Interfere with site speed or another person's access
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Use the content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Violate a federal, state, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Do not use site content or a linked result to stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate, or discriminate against a person. Such conduct is prohibited and may violate law. Virginia places special restrictions on misuse of the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Its information supports lawful public-safety awareness, never retaliation or vigilante action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. The site and its advertising partners are not designed to screen applicants, assess renters, set insurance rates, or judge credit. Content from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Assess creditworthiness or calculate an insurance premium
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Determine employment or termination
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government program
  • Make any other decision governed by the FCRA

For a purpose governed by the FCRA, use a screening provider that complies with that law and the applicable official process.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Grayson County charge, conviction, warrant, sealing rule, or expungement law applies to a person. Ask a licensed Virginia attorney for advice.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are provided "as is." No warranty promises that:

  • A partner result will be accurate or comprehensive
  • The pages contain no bug, error, or security weakness
  • The service will remain available without interruption
  • Every item of information is complete, current, or correct

Charges may be filed, changed, dismissed, sealed, or expunged, so criminal records do not stay fixed. Gaps are unavoidable. Treat no page as an official statement from a court, sheriff, or public agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to courts, sheriff pages, state agencies, legal resources, and commercial search services. Those destinations are independently controlled. We are not responsible for their availability, content, data practices, or prices. Review a destination's own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Grayson County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create another work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from site use, including reliance on content found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless against a claim, action, or demand caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Virginia law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Virginia.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version takes effect when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one term is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms stay effective. The affected language is adjusted only as far as needed for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
